Sky Zone Brookvale – Up on the catwalk

Sky Zone Brookvale was another study on how to elevate a tired old industrial building and transform it into a dreamy forest of recycled timber and steel. The proposal featured custom-made plywood pallets, which were to be stacked to form a bleacher-style seating area. An elevated catwalk, constructed from simple steel sections and featuring a floor of recycled spotted gum timber, was a central element that divided the different play areas and created the ultimate vantage point to view all areas of the venue. Two types of party rooms were proposed for this venue. Firstly, a unique concept was introduced, utilising inflatable rooms that could be easily moved to any location within the venue. Secondly, the ‘fishtank’ party rooms, which were proposed to be elevated by a jungle of ‘bamboo’ steel poles, would give the guests a full 360 view of the activities below.
